Renovation of a 10,000-square-foot warehouse in the historic Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis to create offices for Studio|Durham Architects and a loft-style apartment for the owners. New warehouse doors provide access to an outdoor entry courtyard that was created by removing the roof and first floor structures.The existing shell was renovated as per local and state historic standards, but new walls are built in a modern style to provide contrast between the building eras. 2005 Star Award photo credit: Philip Durham |
