The clients, SWT Design, a landscape architecture firm, needed additional office space and requested an environment that would impress visiting clients while better representing the firm's design focus. The solution added a modernist white box to the back of an existing Victorian house creating a soaring two-story, light-filled studio. In addition, the project was designed to embody the owners’ environmental focus by including day lighting strategies and high efficiency systems into the building envelope. Custom furniture systems and work surfaces designed by Studio|Durham are used throughout. |
